In collaboration with the business department, I am responsible for everything from requirement definition to system development, including AI fine-tuning. In defining project requirements, I propose solutions established on AI verifications according to customer requests as identified by our business department.

As a recent example, I developed the following functions for an avatar training system.

- Trainer voice ASR - Avatar response generation*

- TTS with specific voice quality*

- Lip-sync avatar video generation

- Sentence classification for speech content evaluation*

- Avator training system design

It is interesting to tackle business challenges using the most advanced AI technology with our skillful engineers. The rapid development of AI in recent years gives us the tools to solve new technological issues one after another. It is very rewarding to engage in technologies that directly related to businesses with high added value. One of the main appealing points of this job is that I can work and grow alongside highly specialized engineers. For example, during my work with engineers expertise in LLM fine tuning and architecture optimization, I developed significantly not only in technical skills but also in my collaborative problem-solving abilities.

I am Kotaro Nomura, a senior engineer. Counting from when I joined the company as a part-time employee, I am now in my fifth year. Many of the projects I have worked on in the past were related to image processing, optimization, and video analysis. My recent projects are mainly related to utilizing large-scale language models (LLM). I am very satisfied working at Rutilea. I can make use of my undergraduate and master's knowledge, and at the same time research and utilize the latest studies and technology.

My responsibilities include the following:

- Understanding business requirements from clients projects and interpreting them into implementable engineering problems.

- Keeping upto date on latest advancements in AI research, technologies and tools and applying them on projects.

- System design and choice for machine learning models and algorithms to solve specific problems.

- Collaboration with a cross functional team of AI engineers, bussiness leads, software developers to integrate AI into client's products.

- Breakdown of project requirements into smaller tasks, allocation to engeneering teams and code review on the results.

- Data analysis, model creation, training, optimization and problem solving issues arising from development and deployment of AI systems.

- Deployment and maintaining production code across multiple environments including edge, cloud and on-prem SOTA GPU servers.

My experience so far as Engineer has been fulfilling working on multiple modalities of generatiive AI, computer vision and software products that are applied in real cases of manufaturing. I am able to take full resposibility of the project development cycle including the AI models, the tech stack and choice of deployment environment. This has been rewarding since I get the opportunity to experiment with latest AI technologies and also brainstorm with colleuges. I get to sharpen my skills in generative AI and software development due to the end-to-end approach of working on a project. We also have access to state-of-art compute hardware including H100 clusters, hence allowing great development and deployment capabilities.

I am engaged as a member of the Research & Development team, focusing on the development and integration of advanced AI-based solutions. My primary responsibilities include the seamless integration of AI models, such as Large Language Models, video/audio generation, and voice recognition technologies, into comprehensive web applications, conducting suitable research on the application of AI models. I am dedicated to delivering solutions to real-world challenges. My primary expertise lies in the complete cycle of web application design, development, and deployment. Additionally, I enjoy taking on AI-related tasks, including model evaluation and fine-tuning. I also greatly enjoy working with image detection and generative models. I find great satisfaction in collaborating with skilled engineers to build a brighter future for Japan.
